Aladdin Sane

Inspired by the iconic photoshoot of David Bowie as Aladdin Sane, this piece captures Bowie's enigmatic persona in a reflective sculpture which shifts with the light.

The sculpture is hand folded from just four pieces of paper:
Two parts of deep grey Peregrina Majestic 'Anthracite' showcase the costume with glittering highlights and deep shadows. Two parts of Gmund 'orange gold' paper by GF Smith give Bowie his glowing hair and golden makeup. brought together on a matt white background, the result is a fitting homage to Bowie and Yamamoto’s shared vision, filtering an iconic photograph through a layer of timeless craft.
